Job Title:  Second Shift Conventional Mill Operator

Department: Mill

Reports To: Mill Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

 

Summary: Responsible for operating machinery in a safe and efficient manner by performing the following duties.

 

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

 

  1. Operates production equipment to produce products in accordance with production needs
  2. Produces assigned products in accordance with verbal and written instructions
  3. Completes equipment set-ups in accordance with customer specifications and quality procedures
  4. Records length of time and quantity of materials used for each job
  5. Inspects parts and documents findings on appropriate paperwork as needed
  6. Maintains work areas in a clean, orderly, and safe manner to include returning tools to designated areas
  7. Adheres to established standard operating procedures paying special attention to safety regulations
  8. Notifies management of product discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, and/or personal injuries
  9. Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines
  10. Fills production needs from schedule set up by mill manager/dispatch
  11. Completes janitorial and housekeeping tasks
  12. Completes production log and feed sampling on every lot of feed ran
  13. Stocks warehouse, bins, and ingredient totes for next production shift
  14. Keeps work facility clean and orderly
  15. Assists with bagging at organic mill
  16. Assists with maintenance when required
  17. Receives bag and bulk ingredients
  18. Performs other duties as assigned

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of internet software and manufacturing software.
