Job Title: Lab Technician
Department: Quality and Procurement
Reports To: Quality and Procurement Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Starting Wage: $14-$16/hr

 

Summary: Ensures quality and company standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved by performing the following duties.

 

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Daily Duties include (but are not limited to) TESTING incoming ingredients as well as outgoing feed samples. maintaining proper storage of retained samples.  Assisting with any feedbacks or customer requests.   Assist with Non GMO testing
  • Weekly Duties Include (but are not limited to) Gather, process, test samples as per assay schedule. Monitor the drug room temperature and record
  • Biweekly Duties Include (But are not limited to) PDI Tests for both mills per assay schedule and document, post pdi results in control room
  • Monthly Duties Include (but are not limited to) Sieve tests (corn and Crumb). Moisture Tests. GMO projects.  All Housekeeping reports, swapping retained samples
  • Semiannual Duties include (but are not limited to) CV tests in both mills. liquid meter tests in both mills
  • Quarterly Duties include (but are not limited to) envirologix verification
  • Annual Duties include (but are not limited to) frictional Heat gain test. conditioner retain time test

As needed, the QC Tech will also be required to maintain and update the NIR machine, perform rovabio tests, soy checks, etc.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, inventory software, internet software, and database software.

 

Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
