Since 1947, Kreamer Feed has been built on hard work, honesty, and a deep respect for the farming community.
George W. Robinson had a vision. He came home from World War II with nothing but the clothes on his back and apprenticed for a farmer before beginning the journey that has left a legacy in his name.
In 1947, after two years overseas in WWII, George “Bill” ventured to Pennsylvania with his brother John Myers, where they rented a 24’x24' building in the rural town of Kreamer for $12 per month.
There, they established their business as a feed dealer called Robinson & Myers, a company whose largest asset at the time was a single 1937 Ford pick-up truck worth $240.
The business expanded over the next few years and though George acquired sole ownership in 1949, he referred to a moment in 1950 as the “most important event in his career” – when he met his soon-to-be wife, Doris Sharadin. He explained that she wasn’t initially impressed with him (especially his square-dancing skills), and that he knew “Kreamer Feed would not be what it is today if it had not been for her dedication, help, and understanding throughout the years.”
Doris and George began their family in 1953 and all seven children earned their spending money by working at the feed mill or raising poultry. The financial worth of both his personal and business assets was just over $17,000 that year.
In 1956, the company began their adventure in poultry contracting with a business they called D&G Farms; what is now BJE Poultry (Bill, Jim, Ed; their three living sons).
By 1962, George had 11 full-time employees and two bulk delivery trucks suited for taking feed from Kreamer to farms nearby. The mill was at this time able to pellet their own feed, and the company added office and retail store spaces which was subsequently named “The Kreamer Feed Store.” By 1967, the bulk feed fleet had grown to three trucks and had sales of $2,304,549 from 22,190 tons delivered.
George appointed his son William (Billy) President of Kreamer Feed from 1986–2012, who spent more than 25 years in the position carrying forward the vision and ethics of his father. While he impactfully led on-site in that role, Billy, like his siblings, was working unofficially and officially for the family feed business since childhood. During his presidency, Bill oversaw significant milestones, including the planning of the company’s organic feed mill and the creation of Nature’s Best Organic Feeds — a brand that remains Kreamer Feed’s most successful, sold nationwide through retailers and online. Widely respected for his fairness, experience, and integrity, Bill is remembered by employees for the culture of trust he fostered, and by the community for his generosity and steady leadership. After Bill stepped down in 2012, he remained Chairman of the Board of Directors until 2025. He remains a board director today.
Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture George Greig joined about 300 others at Kreamer Feed on an October 2013 morning to celebrate the company’s 66th year in operation and grand opening of its new organic mill. The company, which employed about 100, added 10 positions that year after building the new computerized organic mill. All of the Robinson owners were present with George at the opening (Jason, Ed, Billy, George, & Julie).
Jason C. Robinson, Bill's nephew and George's grandson, took over the Presidency of Kreamer Feed in 2013, and today also serves as
President of the Board of Directors. In these dual roles, Jason provides overall strategic leadership and governance oversight for the organization, ensuring alignment between long-term vision, operational execution, and stakeholder priorities. As President of the company, Jason oversees all business functions, including operations, finance, procurement, technology, people development, compliance, and quality assurance. Under his leadership, Kreamer Feed has modernized its infrastructure, advanced employee engagement, and strengthened its safety and risk-management practices.
Today, the company is equipped to receive, manufacture, and deliver feed in both bulk quantities and retail bags. Many additions and investments in the staff and equipment have enabled the company to serve the farmers and customers since 1947 with premium products, three nationwide brands, and exemplary customer service & quality.
Following in the footsteps of George and Doris, the 2nd and 3rd generation Robinsons have taken steps to ensure the business, the family, and the community are thriving today, despite the loss of Doris in 2003 and George in 2015. A noteworthy example is the annual George & Doris Robinson Memorial Golf Tournament, held to benefit a different local organization with proceeds each year.
